Instructors

Choose your instructor.

A list of independent, insurance-approved flight instructors you can contact for training in our Cirrus SR20 G6 — on your terms, on your schedule.

Please note

We are not a flight school.

Kodiak Aviation provides aircraft rental and simulator access — we do not employ instructors or run a training program. The instructors listed below are independent CFIs who are separate from Kodiak Aviation and operate their own instruction businesses.

What they have in common is that each one is an approved instructor on our aircraft — they've met our insurance requirements and completed a checkout in N701YZ. You're welcome to contact any of them directly to arrange instruction. Aircraft rental is paid to Kodiak; instruction is arranged and paid directly with your instructor.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I bring my own instructor?
As long as your instructor meets our insurance requirements, then you are able to. Please have your instructor reach out to us at info@kodiakaviationco.com for more information so we can confirm eligibility and complete a quick checkout in the aircraft.
Are the instructors employed by Kodiak Aviation?
No. We are not a flight school and we do not employ instructors. Everyone listed on this page is an independent CFI, separate from Kodiak Aviation, who has been approved to instruct in our aircraft. You arrange and pay for instruction directly with them.
How do payments work for the aircraft vs. instruction?
Aircraft rental is paid to Kodiak Aviation at our published rate. Instruction fees are set by, and paid directly to, your instructor. The two are billed separately.
Do I need an instructor to rent the aircraft?
Not necessarily. Licensed pilots who complete our aircraft checkout can rent and fly the SR20 G6 solo. Instruction is optional — it's there if you're working toward a rating, returning after time off, or just want a CFI alongside you.
What are the insurance requirements for an outside instructor?
Our insurance policy sets minimum standards for any CFI instructing in N701YZ — things like certificates, ratings, and time in make and model. The fastest way to confirm is to have your instructor contact us directly and we'll walk them through what's required.
How do I get connected with one of the listed instructors?
Use the "Request an Intro" button on any instructor card, or email us at info@kodiakaviationco.com and we'll put you in touch. From there, you and the instructor arrange availability, scheduling, and rates directly.
Is a checkout required before I fly?
Yes. Every pilot completes a checkout in the SR20 G6 before solo rental, and every instructor completes a checkout before instructing in it. It covers the Garmin Perspective+ avionics, the CAPS parachute system, aircraft-specific procedures, and Falcon Field operations.
